R/GA - Nike Store

At the end of September my latest project was launched, the Nike Store. I believe it's one of the most robust shopping experiences on the web, served up with Flash.

Music To Go!

In 2004 and 2005, I worked for a company called MusicToGo, which makes online music stores for terrestrial radio stations. At the time I left this job, we supported stores for 30 radio stations in 13 different local markets, and as of the end of September 2006 they are still using the software I wrote to support over 100 digital storefronts.

I started as lead programmer for the Flash front-end, and eventually became the production manager for all development at MusicToGo.

Here's a link: M2G Project Management Blog - Schedules, Art Production, Bug Tracking.

The following is a description I wrote at the time about how MusicToGo works:

-------------------------------------------------------

We sell music for $.99 per track in Windows Media format. Our target market is everyone who owns a portable music player that is *not* an iPod. This is a large and growing market. We leverage the airwaves to reach people who listen to radio, in their cars, in their homes, or on the street.

We customize the stores for each station, incorporating their brand identity, creating artwork that represents their on-air talent, displaying their top hits and celebrity playlists. We display every song the station has played in the last 24 hours, and provide 30 second samples to listen to, along with detailed album and purchase information.

Our "Tune Genies" come in many flavors - Pop, Hip Hop, Country, Jazz... Currently there are 12 different musical genres we represent with these special avatars. The genies suggest recommendations of songs we think you'll like, and present special offers like free music sponsored by the stations and their advertisers.

Music To Go's strength is our connection with the stations and their local audiences, the labels and advertisers. We've got a lot of new ideas coming through our channels, and I hope you dig our moves.

Here's our current lineup of genies, followed by screenshots of the product:
